Other details:	Mr Henniker assigned this bearing to Annesley. In Nicholas's roll temp Edward II. The colours are given as paly of six argent and azure a bendlet gules. This was for Mons. John de Armesleye. The name is derived from Anneslei in Nottinghamshire where Richard de Annesley was seated at the date of the Domesday Survey. Viscount Valentia derives from Annesley, as likewise does the Earldom of Annesley. See Burke's Peerage.
