Other details: The three lions rampant on this tile stand for Fienies, Fenes or Fienles, Barons of Say and Seale. The colours are Argent, three lions rampant or. Dugdale (Baronage) says the first named of this ancient family is Tugdrain de Fienes, who married Sibyll de Tyngrie, daughter and heiress of Faramus de Bolon, or Boulogne, which Faramus was nephew to Maud Queen of England, wife of Stephen. He had issue William de Fienles, son and heir who lived in the early part of the reign of King John. The above coat will therefore, in all likelihood, represent this said William.
