This tile and the 18th of the present series from Caen stands for Tilli, lord of St Germain. The colours are or, a bend azure, over a fleur de lis. The bend stands for a difference. Mr. Henniker says that Godfrey and Raoul de Tilli are made mention of in the charter of Henry II as liberal contributors to the Abbey of Caen. This family name does not occur in any English Roll. Tilli. Seigneur de Piemonty and Tilli seigneur de Chalelanis de Blaer, are mentioned in Hozier's works as bearing a fleur-de-lis. Hippeau p 63. Pierre de Tilly was bailiff (bailli) of Caen. August 1212.
