Given by J T Michelwaite Esq FSA 1880. Inked in tracing. Fragment of tile with raised pattern of geometrical design with border of sunk squares, black glaze. 13th century. Length 4.3 inches. Dark greenish black all over except on raised parts where glaze is worn showing red brick - various depths of indentation deepest in centre places shaded dark. Broken edges. Thickness 270 mm.
