An armorial tile on which a bend charged with an engrailed saltire is displayed, whilst a key at one side signifies that the owner was a monkish official who held the appointment of cellarer, or bowser, offices that like those of hospitaler and almoner went by certainy of succession in Abbeys, Monasteries and Priories. See Introduction to Valor Ecclesiasticus 27 Henry VIII where instructions to the visitors are given. I find no change corresponding to the above in Papworth.
