Other details:	Now in the Museum at York on which the arms of Deyncourt are displayed, a similar tile was formerly in Wirkworth church Derbshire. Walter D'Eyncourt coming over with the Conqueror had four lordships assigned to him in the West Riding of Yorkshire and and eleven in Derbyshire. His son Walter founded Kingsgarton Priory, Nottingham and was a great benefactor to St Mary's Abbey, York. Edward Deyncourt was styled lord of Thurgarton as well as Baron Deyncourt. The arms are in the rolls of Henry III or Edward I and read `Azure a fess ?..between ten billets or. (see Dugdale Baronecy Caerlaverock Rolls and Reliquary).
